It gave some solace when I while ago I noticed the Dutch press was also reporting some crazy ones.
Check this out, it was in the Metro:
What does that mean ?
Frogs looking for princesses ?
Frogs looking for human love ?
What should you do when spotting such a sign ???
Then the text explains it:
"We were driving around in the surrounding of the city of Venlo. Suddenly, we saw this traffic sign with a frog", says Etienne Soeters. "Probably there are many little frogs in the area". A spokesman from the City Hall explains: "Those traffic signs are to alert the drivers about big frogs crossing their way."
And then there is also this one below. It features somebody in a wheel chair and says: drive slowly.
Crazy Traffic Signs
"This one is in the passage of the mall center in Rijswijk" says Danny Van Eck. Here there are lots of retired oldies and they ride their electric wheel chairs really fast. I, myself, have now and then to spring to the side because of them. Those traffic signs are hilarious."
"This is not an official traffic sign. It was not put on the mall by the Town Hall. I guess it was placed there by the owners of the mall", says a spokesperson from the City Hall. The mall's owner unfortuntely was not available for comments.
